There's a line in "Enchanted April" about "befores & afters" that draws such a sadness from me. The phrase is about moving away from the past and stepping into the beauty of the present.
What I am realizing now is that, just because my "afters" have begun, doesn't necessarily mean that I am living in them.
God, help me to walk towards life, not away from it, knowing that is where I will find You.

More unbalancing, however, is discovering your before gone without an after having taken its place. Leaving you merely to wait and to wonder if there is to be an after at all. I wasn't expecting my after to take place that day at my ladies club..." :) I'm sure that wasn't word for word... but it's as much as I could remember. There is so much to learn in the pages of that script. I'm praying the same prayers as you, my friend.
